Let's be honest: the Thirsty Beaver Saloon is the best honky tonk in Charlotte, and possibly in the whole US of A. Open since January 2008, the Beaver has welcomed all manner of patrons through the door and greeted them with open arms and cold beers since then. The crowd is refreshingly eclectic, mixing blue collar with white collar, people on all sides of the political spectrum, old and young, hip and decidedly unhip. This is a place where truly everyone can feel at home, even from the first time you walk under the horns over the doorway.
Owners and brothers Mark and Brian Wilson run the kind of place they've always wanted to hang out in. It has old school country and western on the free jukebox, pool tables in the back, the coldest beer and stiffest drinks in town, and a crowd of regulars and irregulars alike that are always willing to strike up a conversation and make a new friend.
Live music every Sunday, monthly Beavergrass open mic, and a monthly Good Time Gospel hour provide entertainment above and beyond the Hee Haw that plays on the TV. Once you walk in to the Thirsty Beaver, you know. You've come to the right place.
